Today our Church overwhelmingly voted yes to affirm the @sbcamendment. Our interpretation of this matter of Women Pastors has been the interpretation for 2000 years. It is deeply rooted in the Bible and our historical understanding as Baptist. Our friendly cooperation with other Baptist Churches in our convetion and local association hinges on our mutual understanding of the Bible and the conviction to which we adhere.
Our convention is at a time in space where we must have conviction and clarity. To all of my family and friends from other denominations that believe in the ordination of women Pastors and Elders. I am not here to judge or question your salvation, but know that we love you regardless of your opinion. But we are Baptist this is our rock solid belief. Our Church overwhelmingly voted YES for the SBC Law Amendment to affirm, appoint, or employ only men as any kind of pastor or elder as qualified by Scripture. This amendment to our constitution is not only needed but absolutely necessary.
We will send messengers to Indianapolis to vote yes to affirm the Law Amendment and only support the candidates for SBC President who hold our mutual view.
